A FORMER Bangor headteacher will be sentenced tomorrow (July 1) after he was convicted of 19 sexual offences following a three-week trial.

Neil Foden, 66, of Gwynant, Old Colwyn, was found guilty by a 12-person jury at Mold Crown Court on May 15 of the following charges:

  • 12 counts of sexual activity with a child.
  • Two counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.
  • Causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
  • Possessing indecent images of a child.
  • Sexual assault of a child.
  • Sexual communication with a child.
  • Attempting to arrange the commission of a child sexual offence.

His sentencing was adjourned until July 1 at Mold Crown Court so that a pre-sentence report could first be compiled, with Foden remanded in custody until then.

Judge Rhys Rowlands, who presided over the trial and who will sentence Foden tomorrow, warned him post-verdict on May 15: "Plainly, it will be a lengthy custodial sentence.”

Foden’s offending dated between 2019 and 2023, and involved four victims.

He was cleared by the jury of a 20th sexual offence charge involving a fifth alleged victim.
