Pupils at Ysgol Borthyn have bagged a prestigious eco award, earning recognition for their commitment to the environment.
After receiving three Green Flag Awards, the school has now been honoured with the esteemed Platinum Flag Award.
This accolade comes as part of the Eco-Schools initiative: a global educational programme run in Wales by Keep Wales Tidy, and sponsored by the Welsh Government.
The scheme empowers students to champion change in their community, teaching them vital lessons about sustainable living and global citizenship.
These young eco-warriors at Ysgol Borthyn staged an upcycling workshop, launched a drive to cut traffic speed around the school, and even hosted a 'Sow and Grow' day.
Setting up a school shop to sell their upcycled goods, they invited parents and locals to plant vegetables and cultivate wildflower areas in the school's green spaces.
Teleri Llwyd-Jones, Headteacher, said: "I am so proud of the whole school and especially the Eco Senedd.
"They have worked very hard, with Mrs Grant, in ensuring that we are an eco-friendly school.
The platinum fag will be displayed proudly in the school to celebrate another of our schools' wonderful achievements."
Catrin Hughes, Education Officer for Keep Wales Tidy said: "The Platinum Flag is a very impressive achievement and highlights the enthusiasm and commitment that Ysgol Borthyn has towards sustainable development. The dedication of the Eco-Committee over many years has been inspirational. I’d like to congratulate and thank all of the pupils and staff involved for their hard work!"
