A TRADITIONAL butchers shop has opened in Llangollen and has already received overwhelming praise.
Friends and business partners with over 50-years experience Alan Downes and Nathan Smith are thrilled to have opened The Clwydian Butchers in Llangollen on Thursday, July 18.
Aiming to provide traditional butchery in the popular town, the pair will specialise in 'in house' meat production methods while working with local suppliers and farms.
Alan and Nathan said: "We’re thrilled to have opened our doors on Llangollen High Street this week. We’ve had a great first day and met some lovely people and received a warm Llangollen welcome from all.
"We’d like to say a big thanks to everyone that has supported us over the past few weeks and all the kind gestures from local residents and fellow traders.
"Inevitably, in any new business it will take some time to settle in and most importantly learn from you how we can best serve the needs and wishes of the community.
"One thing is for sure that we will listen and do our very best to get things right."
Happy customers also took to social media to express their first impressions. One individual said: "I called in and bought chicken crowns which were lovely. It's a proper butchers, no vacuum sealed rubbish. Everyone needs to try them."
"So lovely to have a butcher back in Llangollen!", said another.
Another customer added: "You may pay a little bit more but it is reflected in the quality you get."
Alan and Nathan continue: "We are a team of 2 from Llanelidan and Llanarmon yn Ial with over 50 years’ of traditional butchery experience between us.
"We believe in nose to tail butchery, which means we prefer to work from whole carcases that are supplied locally.
"We love traditional butchery methods and processes and we are curing our own bacon, making our own recipe sausages, burgers, pies, pastries and much more, all this ‘theatre’ in full view from our shop front."
The Clwydian Butchers is situated at 19 Castle Street, occupying the former Daniel Morris Butchers which closed in May this year.
