THE roads surrounding the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct near Llangollen have been closed due to a police incident this afternoon (August 22).
North Wales Police have urged motorists to avoid the area for the time being while it is dealt with.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We are currently responding to an incident in the Froncysyllte area.
"Officers are in attendance, alongside colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
"The roads surrounding the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct are closed and we are kindly asking people to avoid the area for the time being and take alternative routes where possible."
Shortly before 3pm, North Wales Police confirmed the roads had been reopened.
A spokesperson said: "All roads surrounding the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct have now reopened.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as emergency services dealt with the incident."
