RUTHIN TOWN FC will play their home games in Bala for an indefinite period of time, as work on its own pitch is set to start.

The side will play their forthcoming games at Bala Town FC's Maes Tegid, as work on the pitch at their Memorial Fields home commences.

Work is due to start on September 16 - but the club has not given an end date for the work, and when the team will return to the ground.

A spokesperson for Ruthin Town FC said: “Following the announcement of our exciting pitch renovation plans, Ruthin Town FC is pleased to be working closely with our near neighbours at Bala Town FC to host our first team fixtures at the Maes Tegid stadium whilst works are undertaken at the Memorial Fields ground.

“With the commencement of the pitch renovation work at our Memorial Fields ground due to start on 16th September, the club has acted swiftly to secure a suitable alternative venue.

“Maes Tegid, Bala, being the ideal choice whilst ensuring we remain compliant with Tier 2-standard ground criteria.

“We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to some.

“However, the long-term benefits for the club and wider community are substantial, and we greatly appreciate your continued support during this period of transition.”
