Rhiwaedog hosted an open day for more than 150 people.
On Saturday, September 21, the Welsh Black Cattle Society President, Emyr Jones, and his family welcomed more than 150 breeders and friends to view the Waedog Herd.
The 350-acre farm, situated between 750 and 1,000 feet above sea level, maintains a flock of 800 sheep and 60 cows.
The herd was first registered as pedigree in 1968, and the family aims to keep approximately ten heifers annually.
Attendees were treated to a trailer tour of the farm, where they saw numerous Welsh Black Cows in the fields.
This provided an opportunity to observe a member preserving the Welsh Black Cow pedigree and using the dam as a super suckler cow by crossing with Charolais and Limousin Bulls.
The tour concluded with a serving of Welsh Black Beef Roll, offering another chance for breeders from across Wales and beyond to socialise.
