Rhiwaedog hosted an open day for more than 150 people.

On Saturday, September 21, the Welsh Black Cattle Society President, Emyr Jones, and his family welcomed more than 150 breeders and friends to view the Waedog Herd.

The day was a success (Image: Buddug Sian Photography) The 350-acre farm, situated between 750 and 1,000 feet above sea level, maintains a flock of 800 sheep and 60 cows.

Attendees were treated to a trailer ride (Image: Buddug Sian Photography) This provided an opportunity to observe a member preserving the Welsh Black Cow pedigree and using the dam as a super suckler cow by crossing with Charolais and Limousin Bulls.

The day ended with Welsh Black Beef rolls (Image: Buddug Sian Photography) The tour concluded with a serving of Welsh Black Beef Roll, offering another chance for breeders from across Wales and beyond to socialise.
