Three North Wales pubs have been named among the UK's best in a listicle by the Daily Mail.

With the help of some of the biggest names in the British food and drink industry including Tom Parker-Bowles, Raymond Blanc, Prue Leith and Ed Bedington (Chair of Judges for The Great British Pubs Awards) as well as hundreds of reviews and rewards, the news outlet has come up with a list of the top 100 pubs in the UK.

Introducing the list, the Daily Mail said: "The Great British pub, embedded in our culture for centuries and almost entirely unique to our corner of the world, comes in many guises, from village locals that are the beating heart of rural communities, to Michelin-starred city boozers.

"The ones you can’t forget? They’ll woo you in with a pretty beer garden in summer, and a crackling fire and comfy chair in winter, while serving up local beers and hearty fare.

"A gentle evolution in recent decades has seen families, including four-legged members, now welcomed with open arms."

Vice Chairman of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), Ash Corbett-Collins, added: "The Great British boozer remains the envy of the world.

"Nothing can beat the warm atmosphere, friendly welcome and top-quality cask beer and real cider found in your humble local."

The Welsh pubs among the best in the UK, according to the Daily Mail, are:

  • The Black Bear Inn (near Usk, Monmouthshire)
  • Tafarn Sinc (Rosebush, Pembrokeshire)
  • Nag’s Head Inn (Abercych, Pembrokeshire)
  • Cresselly Arms (Cresswell Quay, Pembrokeshire)
  • The Cottage Loaf (Llandudno, Conwy)
  • The Boat at Erbistock (Wrexham)
  • Tŷ Coch Inn (Porthdinllaen, Gwynedd)

The 3 North Wales pubs among best in the UK

The Cottage Loaf (Llandudno)

The Cottage Loaf, located in Llandudno, was one of three pubs in North Wales named among the best in the UK by the Daily Mail.

"Known as ‘The Loaf’, the pub’s taps hold an impressive pick of local ales, including the Great Orme Brewery in Llandudno."

If you're looking for a pint recommendation, the Daily Mail suggests Elderflower ale/Cwrw Ysgawen by Purple Moose Brewery (£5.20).

As for bringing your four-legged friend to the pub with you, dogs are only allowed outside at The Cottage Loaf.

The North Wales pub comes highly recommended by visitors as well, with The Cottage Loaf boasting a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Tripadvisor from 5,009 reviews.

The Boat at Erbistock (Wrexham)

The Boat at Erbistock in Wrexham is another North Wales pub to feature in the Daily Mail's list.

"On the banks of the swirling River Dee, you’re likely to share space at the bar with canoeists, walkers, doggies and cyclists," the newspaper explained.

"The 17th-century riverside inn hasa labyrinth of rooms. Pub classics (ham, egg and chips) and bistro dishes (Asian pepper steak salad) sit happily together on the menu, and the house red is a decent Nero D’Avola."

If you are looking for the best pint to try while at The Boat at Erbinstock, the Daily Mail suggests Seren by Big Hand Brewing (£4.65).

Dogs are welcome in certain areas of the pub.

The Boat has also been well received on Tripadvisor, boasting a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 62 reviews.

Tŷ Coch Inn (Porthdinllaen)

The Tŷ Coch Inn in Porthdinllaen is also among the top 100 best pubs in the UK.

It is only accessible by foot and is a 20-minute walk from the nearest car park, but it is worth the trek to this "deeply scenic red-hued, shore-side pub".
