A GROUP of volunteers came to the rescue of a man who had injured himself on Moel Famau over the weekend.
North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) released details of the incident which occurred on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for NEWSAR said: "Welsh Ambulance Service requested our assistance with a male on Moel Famau who had a lower leg injury.
"Sarloc phonefind was used to confirm the exact location of the casualty, and the team was deployed.
"Once on scene, the casualty was fully assessed, given pain relief, and a leg splint was applied.
"The casualty was then brought off the hill in one of our landrovers and loaded into a family members car for transport to the hospital.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
NEWSAR is a non-profit organisation that relies solely on donations made by members of the public.
Its team of volunteers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year responding to those in need throughout Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham and parts of Conwy and Powys.
