A PUB in Denbigh which closed three years ago is set to reopen in the summer of 2025.
Brookhouse Mill shut in 2021 following the death of owner John Hall, but was acquired by pub group Stange & Co. in August,
The Wirral-based group, originally from Llandudno, plans to bring their quality fresh food and classic style to this corner of the Clwyd Valley after a funding injection of £850,000 from NatWest.
The company began as a grocery store in Llandudno more than a century ago, and lists 10 pubs in its portfolio – including the Cottage Loaf and The Snowdon in Llandudno, The Erskine Arms and Y Capel guesthouse in Conwy, and The Queen’s Head in Glanwydden.
With the development, Stange & Co. aim to create around 35 full and part-time jobs in the area.
With four generations of experience in the industry, Stange & Co. prides itself in restoring historic old buildings, enhancing the existing charm and character whilst bringing them up to date with light and airy spaces and modern fully equipped kitchen.
Stange & Co. is planning their comprehensive but sympathetic refurbishment of the building over the next 12 months.
The business is looking to add a sun terrace and new garden room with hopes to open the pub in the summer of 2025.
Daniel McLennan, managing director at Stange & Co., said: "People are at the heart of this business, and we are excited for this opportunity to bring both new employees and customers into the Stange & Co. family.
“We are tremendously thankful to NatWest who continue to support our growth as a business.
“The team we work with have been great in taking the time to understand the business and the lasting memories we are hoping to bring to new communities.”
Ruth Kirby, relationship manager at NatWest, commented: “Stange & Co. is a wonderful community focused business that we’re proud to offer our continued support to.
“Their ambitious growth strategies are built on solid foundations with a host of exceptionally operated pubs.
“We look forward to seeing the development of this latest site and the continued benefits the business brings to Denbigh and beyond.”
