DENBIGH Golf Club member Paul Smith ended the season claiming his first hole in one on the eighth hole, but his playing partner enjoyed the last laugh by winning the competition.
This was the closing competition of the season and with the deluge that followed on Friday, the captain versus vice-captain event suffered a cancellation.
This week sees the start of the Winter League and the adoption of the Winter Rules.
The Order of Merit for the Thursday Competitions was also published as follows with a clear front runner:
1 David G Roberts, 57pts; 2 Brian McBride, 36; 3 Kyle Morris/Harri Williams, 33.
