THE weekend brought plenty of joy for sides representing Denbigh Town.
Town’s men won at both senior and reserve level, while the ladies hit double figures to complete a hat trick of victories without conceding a goal.
Last Friday, the men’s senior side won 3-0 in the Denbighshire derby at Prestatyn Town in the Cymru North.
Matthew Worrall bagged a brace either side of Ryan Kershaw’s superb effort, as Denbigh’s blistering first-half showing settled the contest.
Dewi Llion made three changes to the side that beat Mold last time out with Kershaw, Paul Fleming and Jason Foulkes all coming into the side.
It was another night that underlined that Denbigh are fully justifying their place in Welsh football’s second tier following promotion.
Denbigh now take a break from league action, making a trip to Flint Town United in the WBS League Cup on Saturday (2.30pm).
The club’s reserve side progressed in the FAW Reserve League North Cup with a 2-0 win over Saltney Town on Saturday, while the ladies completed a perfect weekend in emphatic style.
They won 13-0 at home to Bellevue on Sunday in the Betty Pickering Cup.
It was a particularly successful game for veteran star Ceri Purvis, who netted five times including three goals in as many minutes.
Beth Kell also netted five times, with Sophie Bancroft (2) and Lucy Morris completing the scoring.
