A rookie golfer has beaten odds of 12,500/1 to score a hole-in-one just eight weeks after taking up the sport.
Gwion Richards only joined 119-year-old Ruthin-Pwllglas Golf Club in May. But he showed he's a natural when, just two months after picking up a club, he lofted a shot straight into the hole on the 137 yard par three 18th. It was an incredible achievement which also meant he avoided the tricky sloping green.
The odds on hitting a hole-in-one for an average golfer are 12,500/1. For a pro that falls to 2,500/1, making Gwion's feat even more impressive.
Club chairman Ian Vaughan-Evans said: "It's fantastic for him to have made a hole-in-one. He's achieved what many fail to do in a lifetime of playing golf!"
