RUTHIN Town striker Llyr Morris has re-affirmed his commitment to the club despite an approach from Bangor City.
The Huws Gray Alliance side issued a statement following the news that the Citizens’ has put in a request to speak to the prolific forward, who was the second tier’s top scorer last season and already has nine goals to his name this time around.
Town also confirmed that because of the nature of City’s approach for their star player, the club are “currently taking advice as to any further steps that may need to be taken”.
Paddy Carney, Ruthin Town chairman, said: “Sadly the players are constantly being approached and it is very disrupting to Chris (Williams) and his squad.
“We have a great set of lads here who have continually said they wish to stay at the club but with their quality I guess clubs try to temp them.”
The Chronicle revealed earlier this week that director of football Stephen Vaughan Jnr put in seven days’ notice for both Morris and Conwy Borough skipper Gerwyn Jones, who has also emerged as one of the standout performers within the division following an outstanding start to the season for the Tangerines.
City have responded well to the shock departure of manager Craig Harrison, winning two consecutive contests in league and cup to leave them in fourth position in the standings.
Following their 2-0 reverse at Porthmadog last weekend, Williams’ men sit in 11th spot and six points off the top four.
