DENBIGH Town have received a massive boost with the news that Kristian Pierce has decided to stay on at the club.
The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side are aiming for an instant return to the second tier following their relegation from the Huws Gray Alliance, and talented forward Pierce’s presence within the set-up enhances their promotion chances at the first opportunity considerably.
The hometown player made the move back to Central Park midway through the season and turned in a number of superb displays despite the club’s demotion.
He has played a significant role in Town’s success since a teenager, with Pierce part of the side that finished second in the HGA under Eddie Maurice-Jones in 2018.
The attacking threat was also a member of the squad than sealed a memorable third tier championship win under Richard Williams-Cooke, where they pipped Holywell Town to the crown after going unbeaten throughout the campaign.
Pierce also boast JD Welsh Premier League experience with the Lilywhites under Niall McGuinness, and he is set to form what could be a prolific partnership with skipper Mark Roberts, who declared his decision to stay at the club as a “no brainer”.
The duo will now spearhead their title charge with Dewi Llion at the helm, with the boss given the job after the resignation of Matthew Jones before their fate was sealed.
Another notable addition to the backroom team is Owain Roberts, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players the region has ever produced thanks to a trophy-laden career.
