WHATEVER the reason, Denbigh pairings continue to perform well in the Clwyd and Border Alliance every Wednesday.
It started with Eric Howells and Fred Jones take second spot at Ruthin.
At Wrexham, Nigel Morris and Haydn Owen claimed top spot, followed by John Copeman and Brian McBride in second place at Llangollen.
Over at Mold, Eric and Fred again claimed first position with Nigel and Llew Davies in second.
Last week at Rhos-on-Sea, Llew and Tegid Phillips again edged a first place whilst Huw Parry, now joining the teams, has won the scratch competition a few times.
Handicaps certainly have a bearing as playing away from the tight home course helps the members to play far more attacking golf on the away days.
