WITH the disruptive weather of late having reduced Denbigh Golf Club's winter league season, there are now only seven weeks remaining.
And the winner of the league is anyone's guess, with the top-five golfers being separated by just two points, so the battle at the front is gaining pace.
Craig Stubbs heads the way with 37 points, two clear of Robert A Williams, Adam Houston, Paul Smith and Jonathan Roberts.
A handicap reduction of three strokes didn't affect Gary Ashton, who accumulated 43 points in competition for the second week in a row.
That gave him victory in the bronze section and he was just pipped on countback by eventual winner Steven M Jones.
The course is now back to the yellow tees and the greens are again in play, which gives a better reflection of the players' ability.
The low handicappers now have little opportunity of gaining much points, although they are returning good scores.
Results (week 11):
Winner, Steven M Jones (27) 43pts. Silver: 1, Jonathan Roberts (13) 42; 2, Jason Owen (14) 42. Bronze: 1, Gary Ashton (17) 43; 2, Craig Stubbs (17) 41. Challenge hole (8th), Andrew Witton.
