BALA Town's hopes of achieving a top-two Cymru Premier League finish look to be over following an away loss.
The Lakesiders suffered a 3-2 reverse in their latest contest at Newtown.
This leaves Colin Caton's side in fifth spot in the standings, seven points off second-placed Connah's Quay Nomads with seven matches left to play.
Initially, things looked to be positive for Bala, who took a lead into the interval at Latham Park.
Ten minutes had elapsed when Nathan Burke whipped a terrific ball into the box and Adam Roscrow got the faintest of touches to help it into the back of the net.
However, Newtown levelled things up after 62 minutes via Aaron Williams' effort at the back post.
Within a minute, Bala were back in front.
Following a spot of pinball in the Newtown box, the ball fell for Roscrow, who powered a strike into the net from close range.
George Newell went close to adding a third goal for the visitors soon afterwards, while Chris Venables' effort trickled off the post and away from danger.
Newtown had Shane Sutton sent off with 12 minutes left and the three points looked to be heading to Bala.
But, with two minutes remaining, Callum Roberts made it two-apiece.
Then, in the first minute of stoppage time, former Bala player Louis Robles grabbed a dramatic winner.
