WINTER is now over as far as members of Ruthin Pwllglas Golf Club are concerned.
A total of 60 players turned out for the final winter league competition of the club's season.
There were plenty of highlights over the course of the league season and taking the plaudits during the final week of action was Mike Parton.
He wasn’t challenged by some tricky pin positions and Parton took the overall weekend win with 40 points.
This was two points clear of the rest of the field.
John Ll Williams won Division One with 37 points and Idris Roberts accumulated 38 points to come out on top in Division Two.
The final league positions will be announced at the club on Saturday after the annual captain versus vice-captain match.
Result: Overall winner, Mike Parton 40pts. Division 1: 1, John LI Williams 37; 2, Oliver Gray 37; 3, Tudor D Foulkes 36. Division 2: 1, Idris Roberts 38; 2, Gareth Pierce 38; 3, Phil Evans 37.
The 2023 midweek competitions commenced on March 1 with a team of two 13-hole Texas scramble.
Winners Oliver Gray and Paul Waltho (47-6=41) were in great form with a gross score one under par of the holes played.
They were two strokes clear of runners-up Janet Turner and Ann Ellis Davies, with Catherine Parton and Brenda Roberts a further two strokes back in third.
