Wales is set to take on France in its round four fixture of the 2024 Guinness Six Nations on Sunday (March 10) at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Wales will be looking for their first win of the tournament after losses to Scotland, England and Ireland in its opening matches. 

While France will be looking to bounce back after a draw to Italy (13-13) in its last Six Nations outing two weeks ago.

Wales v France kick-off time

Wales take on France at Principality Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday (March 10).

Kick-off for the Wales v France match will be at 3pm.

The roof will be closed for the match.

For those planning on watching the match at home, the Six Nations clash will be broadcast on BBC One with coverage beginning at 2.20pm and set to conclude at 5.05pm.

Gate opening times for Wales v France at Principality Stadium

If you are heading to the Wales v France game at Principality Stadium, you may be wondering what time the gates open so you can plan your trip in. 

While kick-off is at 3pm, the gates to Principality Stadium open at 12.45pm.

Getting to Principality Stadium

Train

Transport for Wales (TfW) will be providing additional capacity where possible on routes in/out of Cardiff on Sunday.

But services are expected to be "very busy" with the Principality Stadium website warning travellers to "allow plenty of time for your journey".

Post-event queues for mainline rail services will be on Central Square and queues for Valleys services will be to the rear of the station, the Stadium website adds.

Cardiff Queen Street will close at 1.30pm except for accessible access and passengers that wish to travel to Cardiff Bay

Driving

Event park and ride service

The event park-and-ride service for the Wales v France will operate from the Toys R Us in the Sports Village, Cardiff Bay (CF11 0JS) - dropping off at Callaghan Square. 

This park and ride site will be open just before 9am, with the last bus leaving from the Cardiff city centre at 8.30pm, with the site closing soon after.

The service costs £12 (cash only).

Car parks

There is event day parking for the Six Nations match at:

  • The Civic Centre (£20 for cars, £30 for coaches - open 8am to midnight)
  • Sophia Gardens (£20 for cars, £30 for coaches - open 8am to midnight)

Road closures in place for the Wales v France match in Cardiff

There will be several road closures in place in Cardiff on Sunday for Wales v France. 

Roads closed from 7am

  • Scott Road
  • Park Street

Road closed from 11am

The following roads will be closed as part of the full city centre road closure which will take place at 11am until 7pm:

  • Kingsway (North Road to Duke Street)
  • Cowbridge Road East (Cathedral Road to Westgate Street)
  • Tudor Street (Clare Road to Wood Street - access for residents and traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment)
  • Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street (Despenser Place to Tudor Street - access for residents and traders permitted)

Station Terrace and Guildford Street (from Newport Road to Churchill Way) will be accessible for buses only.

  • Caroline Street

Additional road closures

Penarth Road will be closed 30 minutes before the game finishes and up to an hour after.

Access to part of the Civic Centre will be restricted on Sunday to event parking, limited commuter parking, loading and access to private car parks.
