MIKE and Jules Peters appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss Wales missing out on Euro 2024.

The Alarm frontman and his wife spoke to presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent on Wednesday, March 27 after Wales failed to qualify for Euro 2024 after losing to Poland in a penalty-shootout in Cardiff.

Mike said: "It was a big loss and tragedy for the country but we will pick ourselves up.

"I think we can see this as a new beginning, the start of a future run and hopefully, when the world cup comes around next time, Wales will be there with all its colour, beauty and majesty."

Jules said fans packed into the couple's venue The Red in Dyserth on Tuesday night (March 26) to watch the game.

She said: "Last night was just a magical night. There were so many people, so many different ages. 

"We only bought the local pub just over a year ago so, for me, it was very special despite the results. I loved to see everybody. Our boys were in the bar, my parents were around.

"The football night is like a new beginning of The Red social club. It was fun, great to see everybody under one roof."

Mike previously recorded Wales's official UEFA EURO 2020 song, 'The Red Wall of Cymru'.

Asked about keeping positive, Mike said: "We are a strong country. A country of small communities coming together for the big moments. We see each other through the good times and the bad and that's one of our real strengths as a country. We have the music of Wales and we can all celebrate singing at the end of the show. 

"At the end of the game, the fans were still singing the national anthem and The Red Wall of Cymru.

"We will come together through adversity and as we say in Wales, 'together stronger' is our motto."

Jules said after the show: "It was fantastic to appear on BBC Breakfast TV, putting The Red and Dyserth on the nationwide map.

"Even though we didn’t get the result we were hoping for, we enjoyed gathering together at The Red and celebrating community, friendship and good times.

"We look forward to more social sports gatherings at The Red."
