Corwen bounced back from their Welsh Cup disappointment with a resounding 5-0 win against Conwy Borough.
The Ardal North West match took place on the War Memorial Park pitch over the weekend.
The hosts performed stellarly early on.
Sam Henry, after some impressive build play, passed the ball to Henry Evans, who narrowly missed the target with a curving shot.
13 minutes into the game, Tom Mann almost scored from a low ball from Sam Henry.
However, the opposing goalkeeper, Josh Cooke, managed to keep the score level with a low save.
Shortly before the 30-minute mark, Mann was once again in the thick of the action.
After Henry's shot rebounded into his path, Mann took a touch and outwitted goalkeeper Cooke, breaking the deadlock with a conclusive goal.
Mann registered another attempt in the first-half stoppage time but was denied by a quick reaction from Cooke.
Goalkeeper Tyler French passed to Les Brophy, whose onward ball to Scott Evans enabled a shot by Mann.
A minute later, Sam Henry of Corwen got a shot on target, saved again by Cooke.
Despite Conwy Borough's strong start after the break, the home team managed to extend their advantage.
Henry ran at Cooke and managed to beautifully slot the ball past the goalkeeper, making the score 2-0 in Corwen's favour.
20 minutes into the second half, a powerful move saw Scott Evans pass to Henry, who slid the ball into the far corner of the net for his second goal.
Four minutes later, Tom Williams lifted the ball over the dive of Josh Cooke to stretch the lead even further for Corwen.
With 15 minutes of play remaining, Henry completed his hat-trick with a terrific finish, taking the score to 5-0.
Despite Corwen's efforts to inflate their score, a combination of a strong save and a narrow miss kept the score-line as is.
In the dying minutes of the match, the away team’s goalkeeper, Cooke, made a strong near post save to deny a close range shot from Tom Mann.
The match ended with Corwen having significantly triumphed with a decisive 5-0 victory over Conwy Borough.
